Lydia Eagle was recently awarded the Peter Barry Trophy at the Hawke’s Bay Excellence Awards. Sophie was Lydia’s mentor through the Project K youth development programme from June 2008 until June 2009. The pair formed a strong bond and had an action-packed year, tackling some big endurance events from the Hawke’s Bay Adventure Race and Triple Peaks to the Project K Tour de Vines fun run and walk fundraiser. Lydia graduated from Project K with merit last year and went on to be selected for the regional excellence awards.

In the news

In case you missed it, Sophie featured in the Weekend Herald’s glossy magazine Canvas on Saturday. A profile on Sophie was part of the main feature on people with jobs others would probably run a mile from – like being a parking warden or used car salesperson. Sophie explained why she is proud of the team at 99 and the job they do as telemarketers. The article conveyed 99’s practice of representing products they believe in and countered the stereotypical image of telemarketers as pushy salespeople who are only interested in “sell, sell, sell”.

While there were a couple of mis-quotes, the article has been very positive for 99.

Coming to a town near you..............

Happy birthday to us - 99 is three years old this month! As a result of rapid growth and increased interest from outside the Bay, we have decided to offer licenses to people who want to join us in a sales role, starting with the North Island. This is an exciting move that will see our team out and about, generating sales and working for our clients. Hawke’s Bay will still be the engine room for our fantastic callers, while new licensees will be able to focus purely on developing their own sales area and working for the benefit of clients.
If you know of any enthusiastic, self motivated people with natural sales ability, who might be looking for their next challenge, Sophie would love to have a chat with them.
